Well, today was the day. Today we finally arrived in Los Angeles (Culver City to be exact). We got to our apartment at around 6:30 PST, but decided to relax in the Starbucks across the street and call home while we waited for the folks subleasing the apartment to us to be ready. More thoughts on L.A. after some pics of today's trip!
First off, the route:

We set forth in the morning through the Arizona sun.
Desert heat is a bit different than Florida heat, so I'd say it was a bit more bearable.
So we got into the now-comfortable habit of driving hundreds of miles, albeit the miles were getting a lot more desert-y.
We were getting closer to Tuscon
Hey, what's that I see?
Tuscon, ladies and gentlemen!
Another city down, but we didn't stop there....
We kept on truckin'...
We stopped off a cool little roadside store, that had a crapload of knives and a bunch of crazy knick-knacks.
Also, me and this buffalo are best buds
We met a few cacti...
But alas, we had to say goodbye...
And hit that ol' road again
Oh hey, another marked mountain
We got onto I-8 in order to bypass Phoenix
and took Arizona's 85 to reconnect with I-10
Saw some pretty imposing dust devils out in the desert
As we neared the California border, we expected another welcome sign like the ones we'd seen before, but...
We started seeing signs like this. We crossed the Colorado river...
And came to this warm welcome
Having once again eluded authorities, we raced into California proper
And drove
We'll get to LA eventually...
Hey, Coachella! There's a music festival there that Anthony would love to go to
We pressed on
Haha, assless chaps
We stopped for lunch at...
Then headed west yet again
It was getting really windy out here and you could really feel it on the car as we drove. But all that wind wasn't just blowing around being useless. As we turned a bend we were greeted by a whole field of windmills!
Passed a big casino
We drove a while longer...
Soon, things started to look a bit more developed...
We were getting closer!
Then we finally saw it from afar... downtown L.A.
a funny license plate
Ah, there she is...
At about this time, my camera died, but things went pretty smoothly. We arrived at out apartment early and decided to chill for a bit in the nearby Starbucks. There I saw my first California gay couple, one of many I'm sure I'll come across, heh. So we decided to scope out Sony Pictures Imageworks and to just generally drive around while we waited for the folks at the apartment to be ready.
I called as the time neared 8pm and they invited us in. The apartment itself is really nice, if not a bit sparse and the couple that lives here is really nice. Long story short, they headed out early this morning to catch a flight to Delaware, leaving the place entirely in our hands...
What shenanigans will ensue? Stay tuned to find out...
